Tax

1.To find the tax of an item, change the percent to a decimal.

2.Then multiply by the price of the item

3. You now have the tax of the item.

Read the question because you may have to add it to the item amount.









Sale Item

1.    To find the sale price  , change the percent off to a decimal.
2.    Multiply the sale price by the decimal
3.    Answer is dollar amount off of the item.


Read question to figure out to see if you need the discount amount or if you have to subtract the discount amount you just found by the original price of the item.


Tip
1.    To find the tip of a bill, take the percent amount to be tipped and change it to a decimal.
2.    Multiply the amount of the decimal by the check amount.
3.    The answer is the amount of the tip.
