HW for Friday- both classes- FCAT REVIEW PACKET!!! 3 GEOMETRY PAGES
Review Sheet C "HINTS"
1-3 look at the FCAT reference sheet.
4. The two half circles form one circle, so find the area of a circle first. Remember to 1/2 the diameter!
Then, find the area of the rectangle.
Add them together
5. Take the Area that is given and work in reverse with the area of a circle formula.
Divide the Area by 3.14
Take that answer and find the square root of the number to get the radius.
6. Add up all the sides. Don't forget the side that doesn't have a value.
7. Find the perimeter of the whole circle by using the circumference formula of a circle. (Remember to add up 3 numbers to get the diameter of the whole circle.
Next, find the circumference of the inner circle.
Subtract.
Review worksheet B
1-3 look at the FCAT reference sheet.
4. Find the area of the trapezoid. Use the reference guide in your book to find the formula.
Remember to follow the order of operations to solve.
5. Find the circumference of the circle by using the formula on the reference sheet.
6. Find the area of this shape by cutting the figure into two rectangles.
Add the area of each rectangle together to get the total area of the figure.
7. Find the area of the whole circle by using the area formula. First find the diameter and then cut it in half to get the radius. The radius is used in this formula.
Next, find the area of the center circle. Remember to get the radius first.(The radius is half of the diameter} You ALWAYS use the radius in the area formula.
Review sheet A
1-3 look at the FCAT reference sheet.
4. Find the area of a parallelogram. Remember, one number is not used. They love to throw extra numbers!!!! The two numbers you use are always connected to the height line.
5. Find the area of the circle by using the area formula.
6. Find the area of the semi-circle, by making believe you have the whole circle. Find the area of the middle circle. Subtract the two and then divide it in half to get the semi circle answer.
7. Find the area of the triangle. Use the formula! (MOST COMMON error is forgetting the half in the formula! Make sure you do this!!!} Don't forget to add numbers to get the base!!!!
Find the area of the rectangle.
Add the two answers together to find the total area.
