Things to know before FSA

These are the formulas that must be MEMORIZED FOR FSA

What is skewed?

Mean- Also known as the average.  The mean is found by adding up all of the given data and dividing by the number of data entries.
Median- The median is the middle number.  First you arrange the numbers in order from lowest to highest, then you find the middle number by crossing off the numbers until you reach the middle.
              Example:
                               - use the above data to find the median:
                                                66  74  75  78  82  89\
                            - as you can see we have two numbers, there is no middle number.  What do we do?
It is simple; we take the two middle numbers and find the average
                                                             75 + 78 = 153
                                                              153 / 2 = 76.5
Hence, the middle number is 76.5.
Mode-      -- this is the number that occurs most often.
Range-The Range is the difference between the lowest and highest values.

Cluster- When data seems to be "gathered" around a particular value.
Gap- an empty space located graph in a set of numbers
Outlier -A value that "lies outside" (is much smaller or larger than) most of the other values in a set of data.

Perimeter- the distance around a polygon.  You add up all the sides.
Triangle - polygon that has 3 sides
Quadrilateral - has 4 sides and includes rectangles, squares, kites, rhombus, and parallelograms
Pentagon- a polygon that has 5 sides
Hexagon- polygon that has 6 sides
Septagon - polygon that has 7 sides
Octagon-  polygon that has 8 sides
Nonagon-  polygon that has 9 sides
Decagon - polygon that has 10 sides
